PaulMart
have been collaborating since 2002. In this time their practice
has evolved into a multi-disciplinary examination of how two artists
can exchange ideas within realms that they themselves have constructed,
to create entities that would never have existed without the filter
of this exchange.
For Big in Japan PaulMart will bring together a number of works
from the past year that have been shown internationally as separate
pieces. In this new position the viewer can weave through the
show examining it as a set of contradictory musings on the nature
of the subject matter. Big in Japan reveals a lexicon of schizophrenic
intentions that, when experienced as a whole have a distorting
effect on any particular reading of the work.
